This research study examines employee perceptions of performance assessment processes and job satisfaction at a small business. A survey was distributed to 35 employees including mechanics, electrical technicians, and office staff, addressing their self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and performance assessment at a motor repair shop. Ten participants choose to participate in the survey and showed concern with the current process held at the organization. Their concerns focused on management relationships and goal development in the organization. The purpose of this study was to establish if the current performance assessment process needed further analyzing and what concerns employees were experiencing in order to increase their job satisfaction. The significance of the results indicated that there in deed is a need for small businesses to form a performance evaluation process. The data collected, if approved, will be used to further develop a new process to improve job satisfaction and performance at a small business.
